vartan (paraphilia); is another jackass! he comes from a family who used to be part of the merchant ring, but was kicked out some forty odd years ago for doing something terrible which i have not fully decided yet, but no doubt got all the other merchants + the vendor himself pissed off. the story as his family tells it, however, is a different one that's spun to put them into a good light, which means that vartan's grown up with not only an extremely powerful stream of magic in his blood and just at his fingertips, he's also grown up with a sense of superiority. intense superiority. "i should be merchant-class" type superiority.

he's very much into buying fancy shit i.e. collector's items and visiting ishtar's place, so if you want like. ....jamie lannister but, like, not, then... sign right up! or if you're into necrophilia. ...or just general sexual deviance, really.
